The handguard and pistol grip are polymer, made in the US. Basically a high grade plastic. The wood is Romanian. I have a plastic stock that matches the grips, but I dislike the ergonomics of it. The wood stock is comfy enough and does hold the cleaning kit.
Basically, I'm waiting for the Assault Weapons Ban to end so I can chuck a folding stock on it. No sense in dishing out the cash for a nice plastic stock when I'm going to change it in a few months anyways.
The Assault Weapon Ban does not allow having more than one of the following: threaded barrel/flash suppressor, bayonet lug, pistol grip, folding stock or grenade launcher. Something close to that, I'd have to look up the specifics. Don't ask me the logic.
It also banned production or importation of magazines capable of carrying more than 10 rounds.
No, AK74U uses the 5.45x39.5mm round and has a different kind of muzzle break. Mine will be just an ordinary AK47U with a normal slant muzzle break.
Interesting observation. Considering I have drank copious amounts of vodka with Russian soldiers, that is. I don't claim to know every subgroup of Russian citizen, but I have spent some time with their military.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
