do you know what make the AK wood furniture is? the handguard, pistolgrip and stock are all different colors...

gotta love cold war surplus, though. the soviets knew how to make it good.

cute title too :)

The handguard and pistol grip are polymer, made in the US. Basically a high grade plastic. The wood is Romanian. I have a plastic stock that matches the grips, but I dislike the ergonomics of it. The wood stock is comfy enough and does hold the cleaning kit.

Basically, I'm waiting for the Assault Weapons Ban to end so I can chuck a folding stock on it. No sense in dishing out the cash for a nice plastic stock when I'm going to change it in a few months anyways.
:iconmizfit:
ah. didn't know the ban included folding stocks, that sucks. going for an AK74u look?
:iconrevdisk:
The Assault Weapon Ban does not allow having more than one of the following: threaded barrel/flash suppressor, bayonet lug, pistol grip, folding stock or grenade launcher. Something close to that, I'd have to look up the specifics. Don't ask me the logic.

It also banned production or importation of magazines capable of carrying more than 10 rounds.

No, AK74U uses the 5.45x39.5mm round and has a different kind of muzzle break. Mine will be just an ordinary AK47U with a normal slant muzzle break.

wow, that rivals canada's bill c-68 in terms of stupidity and ignorance in relation to firearms!

are you military perchance, or just a very knowledgable?
:iconrevdisk:
I'm military. I know some firearms very well, others not so well.

What a stereotype... Russians drink less vodka then you do. Beleive me.

Interesting observation. Considering I have drank copious amounts of vodka with Russian soldiers, that is. I don't claim to know every subgroup of Russian citizen, but I have spent some time with their military.

Just like most Russians don't have AK47's in their closet, perhaps most Russians don't drink vodka.
:iconinok:
It just means they had nothing interesting to do in the army.
